Honda RC211V Specifications

Honda has developed the RC211V in accordance with the revised Federation Internationale de Motorcyclisme (FIM) regulations applicable from the year 2002.

For this new-era machine, Honda selected the revolutionary V5 configuration as its power plant, which Honda believe is the ultimate figure to achieve the optimum concentration of mass and minimum frontal area of the machine. The engines displacement is 990cc. It has round pistons with 4 valves per cylinder. Three front cylinders and two rear cylinders from the 20-valve V5 layout with 75.5 degree V-angle. The V5 is fed by the new racing PGM-Fi (programmed fuel injection) system.

The minimum weight of 145kg, as indicated by the regulations for four or five-cylinder machines, has been achieved. Honda also bring the New Pro-link Rear Suspension system to the RC211V to enable maximum flexibility on overall machine layout and frame body rigidity selections.
